Who We Are
Young Band Directors of Texas was established in 2017 as an outreach program to young music educators seeking guidance as they begin their career in the great state of Texas. Since then, YBDT's efforts have reached more than 5,000 undergraduate students, and membership has grown to 1,500+ members.
Our Purpose
Young Band Directors of Texas aims to provide holistic support to members in the developing years of their career, with a focus on web-based resources and personal connection, YBDT functions as a link between Texas young band directors and the resources available to help them learn, live, and teach.
Our Mission
We aim to reduce burnout by providing a strong sense of community to help new band directors learn and thrive. We represent the interests of young band directors by serving as the link to helpful resources that encourage a healthy work-life balance and the advancement of all bands.
